· Different objects to test
Eg. Paper clips
Rubber
Pins
Pencil
Nails
Coins
Sharpener
Hair pins
What you do:· Touch each item with the magnet. See which ones will stick to the magnet.
· Use the chart below and write for each item whether or not it sticks to the magnet.

There are three types of metals that stick to magnets – or are what we call magnetic. These are nickel, iron, and cobalt. If an item contains one of these metals, a magnet will stick to it. Otherwise it will not.
